Lennox Lewis's boxing gloves, Kelly Holmes' Commonwealth Games vest, Greg Rusedski's
tennis shirt, Gary Lineker's Match of the Day script - all signed of course...
They are just some of the items which will come under the hammer at
the BT Cellnet
Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough, on Friday April 14.
Respected broadcaster and author Gordon Cox will compere this event which will
feature an auction of many varied times donated - almost all signed - by the stars.
Other items include a top worn on Coronation Street by naughty schoolgirl Sarah-Louise
Platt; books signed by Eddie Irvine, Sir Alec Guinness and Ron Atkinson; plenty of
Boro-related
items; signed football memorabilia from Chelsea, Newcastle Utd, Darlington, Ipswich Town;
signed CDs from The Spice Girls, Peter Gabriel, 911 and Brian May of Queen; an Olympic
tee-
shirt signed by rowing heroes Steve Redgrave and Matthew Pinsent; a host of items from
Teesside's world speedway star Gary Havelock, and much, much more.
Lots will be available for viewing 6.30 pm and the auction will get underway at 8pm.
Sealed postal bids will be accepted from anyone who cannot attend. There will also be a
tombola with signed celebrity items up for grabs.
Admission to the auction will be just £1 and a catalogue will be available shortly.
